Your Arms Lore check measures your ability to recall lore about martial traditions and techniques, tactics used in historic battles, as well as identifying warriors or generals in those battles or identifying heroes or villains in history and modern times.<\/p>\n
<\/span>Recall Information<\/span><\/h3>\n
You can use the Arms Lore skill to recall information about sects, clans, local dojos and related businesses, organizations, traditions, and other martial arts, warfare, and combat related information. This functions as the Recall Information ability of the Academics<\/a> skill but only covers this specialized field of study.<\/p>\n
<\/span>Identify Organization<\/span><\/h3>\n
This functions similar to the Identify Creatures ability of the Academics<\/a> skill but only covers this specialized field of study. Arms Lore can\u2019t identify types of creatures, but it can be used in the same way to identify any signs that a creature belongs to a particular organization, such as tattoos, particular clothing, or other insignias. You can also recognize them by certain repetitive movements, stances, or positions they take, as those often reflect their martial training.<\/p>\n
You can also identify these markings in locations, such as to identify territory claimed by different clans, sects, or traditions.<\/p>\n
Arms lore allows you to identify such organizations by their heraldry and formal training, so it is easier to identify when an individual belongs to a prominent martial organization.<\/p>\n
<\/span>Identify Martial Techniques<\/span><\/h3>\n
A successful Arms Lore check can allow you to identify a martial maneuver or stance. The base difficulty class to identify any such technique is 20 + the technique\u2019s level. Apply the modifiers as given on the Identify Spell Effects table of the Arcane Lore<\/a> skill to determine the final DC.<\/p>\n
Arms Lore cannot identify magic or esoteric effects<\/a> that are not martial techniques.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
