<\/span><\/h3>\nA temporary increase in a character’s Constitution score, such as from a bear’s endurance<\/em> spell or barbarian’s rage, can give her more hit points.\u00a0 These are temporary hit points, but they stack with temporary hit points from other sources. They can not be restored and are lost first just as other temporary hit points are.<\/p>\nMagic items which grant an increase to Constitution as long as they are worn do not grant temporary hit points, they instead increase maximum hit points as long as they are worn. Such items do not increase current hit points, so healing will be needed for the character to reach his new maximum hit point total. Hit points in excess of a character’s normal maximum total are lost immediately if the item is removed, but he does not lose hit points as he normally would from Constitution damage.<\/p>\n
