Class Features

Weapon and Armor Proficiency

A Beast Tamer gains no proficiency with any type of weapon, armor, or shield.

Animal Companion

At 1st-level, choose one animal companion you already possess. You add twice your class level to your effective druid level when determining the benefits of the chosen animal companion. For example, a 3rd-level druid/2nd-level beast tamer would be treated as a 7th-level druid for the purpose of determining their animal companion’s abilities.

If your release your companion or it perishes, you may assign the benefits of this class to a different animal companion.

Wild Empathy

When attempting to improve the attitude of an animal, a beast tamer can use her class level in place of her ranks in Handle Animal. The beast tamer also does not suffer a penalty when using Handle Animal with a creature of the Beast type. This benefit stacks with the class level of any other class that grants this ability.

Bonus Tricks

At each class level, you teach your animal companion one additional trick without needing to spend any additional time, effort, or resources. This bonus trick is in addition to any others that you might choose to teach it. These bonus tricks don’t require any training time or Handle Animal checks, and they don’t count against the normal limit of tricks known by the animal. You selects these bonus tricks, and once selected, they can’t be changed.

Companion Feat

At 2nd-level, your animal companion gains a bonus feat of your choice. Your companion must meet the prerequisites of the chosen feat.

Augment Companion

At 3rd level, your chosen animal companion’s Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution scores increase by 2, and its natural armor increases by 1. This is a natural increase, not a bonus.
