In many ways, a psionic node is similar to a cleric domain in that it provides a granted power and a selection of psionic powers with a common theme. Unlike a domain, a psionic node is not inherently tied to a divine power. However, nodes may be linked with a type of existence known as a godmind.
When a character gains access to a psionic node, they typically gain the benefit of the node’s granted ability and add the node’s powers to the class power list for one or more of their psionic classes, allowing the character to select from those powers as one of their powers known, subject to the normal restrictions for their class.
Some characters have the ability to project psionic auras. Such characters gain the psionic aura granted by any nodes they access. Characters that do not possess a psionic aura ability do not gain any benefit from the psionic aura entry of a node.
