To some, psychic power comes naturally, but it isn’t tied to strong emotional outbreaks. Rather, these contemplatives find their power through meditation and philosophical devotion.

Class Features
A Contemplative does not gain the Wild Surge, Surge Bond, Improved Surge Bond, and Perfect Surge class features.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency
A Contemplative gains no proficiency with any type of weapon, armor, or shield.
Psionic Manifesting
As a contemplative, you use Wisdom as your key ability score instead of Charisma. This includes determining your bonus power points, what power levels you can manifest, and your power save DCs.
Meditative Powers
Each morning, while meditating for power points, you choose a number of powers equal to your powers known. When you recover your daily power points after resting, you may choose to rotate one or more powers you know for new ones. These powers must always be chosen from the wilder power list. You must choose at least one power from each power level you can manifest when selecting your powers for the day.
If you learn a power through other means, such as the Expanded Knowledge feat or psychic chirurgery, you may not exchange it for another power using this ability, and it doesn’t count against the limit of powers known when selecting powers with this ability.
This ability replaces surge bond.
Push Beyond Limits
This ability replaces wild surge.
Bonus Feats
You gain Overchannel and Talented as bonus feats at 1st level, even if you do not meet the requirements.
This ability replaces basic wild surge and psychic enervation.
Mind Blast (Su)
You can emit a blast of psychokinetic energy with the power of your mind. You can use a standard action and expend your psionic focus to make a ranged touch attack against a creature within 30 ft. that deals 1d8 points of force damage. At 4th level and every three levels thereafter, the damage increases by 1d8.
This ability replaces surge blast.
Heightened State
At 4th level, you enter a heightened state when using the Overchannel feat. After manifesting a power and using the Overchannel feat, you gain a number of temporary hit points equal to your class level and a +1 insight bonus to saves and AC for 1 round. If you manifest another power and use the Overchannel feat while still under these effects, the duration is increased by 1 round and the insight bonus increases by +1 (to a maximum insight bonus equal to half your contemplative class level). These temporary hit points take effect after the damage taken from using the Overchannel feat (if any).
This ability replaces surging euphoria.
Psionic Meditation
At 5th level, you gain the Psionic Meditation feat as a bonus feat. If you already have the Psionic Meditation feat, you instead gain the Expanded Knowledge feat as a bonus feat.
This ability replaces the improved surge bond gained at 5th level.
Greater Overchannel
At 9th level, you gain the ability to expend your psionic focus when using the Overchannel feat to fuel some of the power needed to augment the power. This effect pays for the cost of up to the manifester level bonus gained by the Overchannel feat. These power points are still counted to determine the maximum number of power points spent on the power but are not deducted
from your power point pool.
This ability replaces the improved surge bond gained at 9th level.
Contemplative Knowledge
At 13th level and again at 17th level, you gain the Expanded Knowledge feat as a bonus feat.
This ability replaces the improved surge bonds gained at 13th and 17th level.
Breaking Limits
At 20th level, you have mastered pushing beyond your limits and can now use a blindingly powerful version of Overchannel, albeit at great cost. Once per day, you may manifest one power using Overchannel with a +6 bonus. In addition to this increase, the manifestation also receives +3 to its save DC, +3 to any attack rolls involved, and is treated as a power three levels higher for the purposes of level-dependent effects (such as a globe of invulnerability).
A power manifested with breaking limits has the radius and intensity of its associated displays doubled; such displays cannot be hidden normally. You exude light as if you were the subject of the daylight spell while using breaking limits, and anyone who makes physical contact with you before the start of your next turn takes 1d4 points of fire damage.
However, this extreme example of Overchannel has its price. You take damage afterwards without fail, except you lose an additional number of hit points equal to your manifester level +6. You also take 2 points of ability burn to every ability score.
