Class Features
Weapon and Armor Proficiency
A Shadow Weaver gains no proficiency with any type of weapon, armor, or shield.
Veilweaving
At 1st and 3rd level, you gain 1 point of essence. You do not progress any other veilweaving class ability at these levels. At 2nd, 4th, and 5th level, you progress a veilweaving class you already possess. If you possess more than one veilweaving class, you must decide to which class you add each new level of progression.
Shadow Steps
At 1st level, you learn to wreathe yourself in shadow essence, disappearing from sight. You may invest essence in this ability as if it were a veil. For each point of invested essence, you gain a +1 circumstance bonus to Stealth checks, and attacks against you suffer a 5% miss chance. If you have at least 3 essence invested in this ability, you gain the ability to wrap yourself in shadows and hide in plain sight, allowing you to use Stealth to hide even while being observed.
Sneak Attack
Your attacks deal an additional 1d6 precision damage any time your target is flat-footed or when you flank your target. This extra damage increases by 1d6 every two class levels after 1st. This functions exactly as the rogue’s sneak attack ability.
Peer into Darkness
Beginning at 2nd level, you gain Darkvision out to 30 feet. This ability functions even within areas of magical darkness that normally impede darkvision. You may invest essence into this ability as if it were a veil. Each point of essence invested into this ability increases the range of this darkvision by 10 feet. If you invest at least 3 points of essence into this ability, you gain blindsight out to 20 feet.
Chilling Shadow
At 3rd level, the cold of a world without sunlight seeps into your very being. You gain cold resistance 5. In addition, you can invest essence into this ability as if it were a veil. Each point of invested essence increases your resistance to cold by 5. In addition, all weapon attacks you make deal an additional point of cold damage equal to the essence invested in this ability.
Freezing Shadow
When you reach 4th level, you learn to strike from the darkness with merciless cold. When you successfully sneak attack a target, you can take one point of essence burn to transform the precision damage into cold damage. This cold damage no longer counts as precision damage, which allows you to deal extra damage to creatures weak to cold and deal damage to creatures normally immune to precision damage. This does not allow you to sneak attack enemies who cannot be flanked or rendered flat-footed.
Shadow Form
Upon reaching 5th level, you become one with the shadows. You can take a point of essence burn as a move action to become incorporeal for 5 rounds, gaining all the benefits of the Incorporeal subtype. In addition, you gain a fly speed of 30 feet with perfect maneuverability for as long as you remain incorporeal.
