You can initiate this counter in response to a melee or ranged attack (including touch or ranged touch spell attacks) being made against you by an identified creature. Make an Academics check opposed by your opponent’s attack roll; if successful, the attack is negated, and you may immediately make an attack of opportunity against that creature (assuming you have available attacks of opportunity remaining). This attack of opportunity gains a +4 insight bonus on the attack roll.
