You add a retardant into an alchemical item before use, slowing its reaction time and causing its effects to linger.

Make an attack with an alchemical splash weapon. Any creature that takes damage (including splash damage) takes additional splash damage each round for a number of rounds equal to your initiation modifier.

For example, if you successfully hit a target with alchemist’s fire, the target would take 1d6 fire damage from a direct hit. In the next round, the target would take an additional 1d6 damage from the ongoing fire, as normal, plus 1 additional fire damage from the lingering effects of this technique. Each round after that, the target would take 1 additional fire damage for the duration of this technique. All creatures affected by the splash damage would take 1 fire damage each round for the duration.
