Colorless Adept

At each level except 1st, 4th, and 7th, you progress a psionic manifesting class you belonged to before you added the prestige class. If you possess more than one manifesting class, you must decide to which class you add each new level of progression.

As a member of the Colorless Lodge, you have certain obligations that you must meet remain a member in good standing. You are required to pay dues of 30gp per month, attend one or more lodge meetings at a local lodge at least once every six months, and be willing to accept missions or quests assigned to you by lodge leadership.

If you fail to meet obligations, you have a three month grace period in which to make amends, after which time you lose access to the power gestalt, shared knowledge, and lodge master class features; however, you will retain access to all other class features already gained.

While you remain in good standing with the Colorless Lodge, you and your party can acquire room and board at the local lodge for only 5sp per day per individual, which typically also includes a simple meal each day. Each lodge also has facilities, tools, and materials available for you to craft psionic items, and you may use these at no additional cost. Each local lodge also maintains a collection of information on jobs, quests, and other important local information on persons and events of interest.

At 1st level, you are linked into the Colorless Gestalt, a nigh omnipresent mental construct to which all members of the Colorless Lodge are psionically linked. Through this gestalt, you are able to access and manifest powers beyond those in your personal repertoire.

Borrowing a Power

You can manifest borrowed powers in much the same way you would manifest a power from another individual’s repertoire, except that you can borrow a power from any member of the gestalt at any distance without requiring physical contact. This process requires a successful Psi Lore check (DC 15 + the borrowed power’s level) and 1 round of concentration to make contact and a second Psi Lore check to understand the power. You can only borrow powers normally available to your manifesting class and can only borrow discipline powers and node powers if you normally have access to that psion discipline or psionic node.

If you succeed on both skill checks, the desired power appears in your mind at the beginning of your next turn and can be used immediately, and you do not need to make any further Psi Lore checks to manifest it. You can retain the borrowed power until it is manifested, up to 1 minute per class level, after which time it fades as though manifested.

You can borrow a number of powers each day with a combined total power level equal to your class level. So, as a 5th-level colorless adept, you could borrow one 5th-level power, or one 3rd-level power and two 1st-level powers, or some other combination that adds up to five.

Power Availability

There are three tiers of power availability within the Colorless Gestalt. At Tier I, you have access to any 1st-, 2nd-, or 3rd-level powers, at Tier 2, you gain access to powers of levels 4th, 5th, and 6th, and finally at Tier III, you gain access to 7th- through 9th-level powers. No 0-level talents are available through the gestalt.

Gestalt Debt

Each time you borrow a power, you incur a debt to the gestalt which you must repay. You repay this debt by sequestering your powers known using the Sequester Power feat; however, when you repay your debt, you do not gain the bonus power points normally granted by the feat.

You must sequester a number of powers with a combined level equal to the combined level of borrowed powers to repay your debt. For example, if you borrowed a 7th-level power, you could repay your debt by sequestering a single 7th-level power or a combination of lower level powers, such as by sequestering one 5th-level and two 1st-level powers.

You have a number of days equal to your class level to repay a debt once incurred. Failure to repay a debt within the allotted time causes you to lose access to the gestalt until your debt is paid in full. Failure to pay a debt within one full year results in expulsion from the lodge.

Beginning at 2nd level, you are able to tap into the shared knowledge of your fellow lodge members. When making any skill check to Recall Knowledge, you can expend your psionic focus to gain a psionic bonus on the check equal to half your colorless adept class level.

At 2nd level and again at 9th level, you gain a metapsionic feat of your choice as a bonus feat. You must meet all the prerequisites of the chosen feat.

When you reach 5th level, your constant contact with the Colorless Gestalt grants you permanent psionic knowledge. You gain one additional power known. You gain a second power known at 8th level.

Starting at 6th level, your ability to make psionic contact with another individual through the gestalt is greatly accelerated. Contact requires only a full-round action (rather than 1 round), and you gain access to the power at the end of your current turn rather than at the start of your next. This may allow you to manifest the power earlier, if the borrowed power can be manifested as an immediate action, but the primary benefit is that you no longer need to maintain concentration between turns.

At 10th level, you are granted the title of Lodge Master, granting you a +2 circumstance bonus on Insight and Persuasion checks made when interacting with other members of the lodge.

In addition, you are granted access to special meetings of lodge leadership and the right to vote on policies and decisions made at those meetings.

Finally, you are able to issue commissions to lower-level members of the lodge, sending them on quests on your behalf.
