Class Features

Weapon and Armor Proficiency

An Akashic Healer gains no proficiency with any type of weapon, armor, or shield.

Essence

You gain 1 point of essence at each level.

Practiced Healer

Your akashic healer levels stack with your class levels for any class with a healing ability based on class level, such as lay on hands or wholeness of body. If you have more than one class that has a healing ability of this type, akashic healer stacks with all of them.

In addition, you gain an insight bonus on Heal checks equal to twice your class level.

Spirit Healing

At 2nd level, you learn to weave akasha into your healing abilities, strengthening your healing and allowing you to better heal others. You are able to use healing abilities that can only affect yourself (such as wholeness of body) on any creature with a touch.

Once per day when you refresh your healing abilities, you may bind essence in your spirit healing ability as if it were a veil. You gain a +1 increase to the relevant ability modifier for determining the number of points of healing for each of your healing abilities.

For example, a Paladin 4/Akashic Healer 2 with a Charisma of 16 would normally be able to heal 18 hit points with her lay on hands ability ((4 paladin + 2 akashic healer) × 3 Cha modifier = 18). By investing 2 essence into her spirit healing, she would increase this to 30 hit points of healing ((4 paladin + 2 akashic healer) × (3 Cha modifier + 2 essence) = 6 × 5 = 30).

For the Healing Akasha feat and other abilities that use essence instead of an ability modifier, treat the essence invested in spirit healing as being invested in that essence receptacle, though this does not count against the essence capacity for that receptacle.

For example, by investing 2 essence into Healing Akasha and 2 essence into spirit healing, you would gain a number of points of healing equal to your Hit Dice × 4.

Soul Cleansing

At 3rd level, you learn to heal certain conditions from the body by cleansing a creature’s soul.

By spending 5 points of healing from one of your healing abilities, you can remove one of the following conditions: confused, dazzled, staggered, or sickened. You may also spend 5 points of healing to reduce exhaustion or fear by one level or to remove one effect that applies a penalty to one or more ability scores (such as a touch of idiocy spell).

By spending 10 points of healing, you can remove one of the following conditions: blinded, dazed, deafened, nauseated, paralyzed, or stunned. You may also spend 10 points of healing to heal 1 point of ability damage or to affect a creature with a neutralize poison or remove disease effect.

By spending 15 points of healing, you may heal 1 point of ability drain or grant a target a saving throw to remove a negative level, including permanent negative levels.

You can remove more than one condition at a time by spending additional points. You may also spend extra points to heal hit points while removing one or more conditions.
