Holding an unrolled scroll like a shield, you capture hostile magic and redirect it as you desire.
This maneuver functions as Spell-Eating Parchment, except that if you successfully counter a spell, a copy of that spell is stored on the inert scroll. You may cast the captured spell as if it were a normal spell scroll or use it as part of another Twisted Vellum technique; however, any technique which would cause the scroll to become inert consumes the spell instead.
Effects which prevent a spell scroll from being consumed when cast do not function with the captured spell, as it is not a true spell scroll.
The captured spell endures until this maneuver is recovered, at which point it dissipates. If the captured spell is cast or used to power a technique, this technique also ends.
If the captured spell is a higher level than the spell stored on the inert scroll, then the scroll is consumed when this technique ends, whether or not the captured spell is cast.
