If you successfully counterspell a 3rd-level or lower level spell (through either dispel magic or normal means) while spell absorption is in effect, you absorb the countered spell and use it to regain spells you have already cast.
- If you’re a wizard, you recall any one spell that you had prepared and then cast that day. The spell is then prepared again, just as if it had not been cast.
- If you’re a sorcerer, you recover a single spell slot, which you may use to cast any of your spells known.
- If you’re a spellbinder, you recover a single spell slot and may immediately prepare the countered spell in that slot as a bound spell (if the recovered slot and spell are the same level).
The spell recall or spell slot recovered must be of the same spell level or lower than the spell you countered.
