Class Features

Weapon and Armor Proficiency

A Legendary Scion gains no proficiency with any type of weapon, armor, or shield.

Legendary Bond

At 1st level, you gain a unique bond with your legendary item. Fate has tied you to the item such that it can never truly be lost. Should your legendary item ever be lost or stolen, it will often turn up in the most unlikely of places, perhaps wielded by bandits against you or found for sale at a steep discount, ready to be tossed out as scrap by a traveling merchant. So long as you live and the item exists, fate will conspire to reunite you.

Should your item be sundered or otherwise destroyed, its fragments will often find their way back into your possession in the hopes of being reforged.

Special Abilities

At each level of legendary scion, you can choose one of the following special abilities. You must meet the prerequisites of any special ability that you choose.

Advance Esoteric Abilities

You can choose to advance one of your existing esoteric abilities. This functions as normal for advancing such an ability. If you have more than one such class, you must decide to which class to add each legendary scion level.

You cannot choose this ability two class levels in a row. For example, if you choose this ability at 3rd level, you must wait until you gain a 5th level of this class before selecting this ability again.

Advance Class Feature

Choose one of your existing class features based on total class level (other than an esoteric ability as described above). Your legendary scion levels stack to determine your effective class level for that ability. You also gain improved versions of that ability as if you took levels in that class.

For example, a bard could apply this to his bardic performance to gain additional rounds of use each day and learn additional performances, a fighter could apply this to his combat focus to gain improved abilities, and a ranger could apply this to his favored enemy to gain improved bonuses and new favored enemies.

This ability cannot be applied to a class feature that is simply granted multiple times, such as a fighter’s bonus feats or a rogue’s special abilities.

This special ability may only be selected twice.

Bonus Class Skill

You may add any one skill to your list of class skills for all of your classes. You gain a +2 circumstance bonus to all checks made with that skill.

Bonus Feat

You can choose to gain a bonus feat. You must meet the prerequisites for any feat you choose.

You cannot choose this ability two class levels in a row. For example, if you choose this ability at 3rd level, you must wait until you gain a 5th level of this class before selecting this ability again.

Enhance Legend

By spreading the legend of your item, you increase the tales of its prowess, thus increasing its actual abilities. You may choose one of the following options:

  • Increase the enhancement bonus of a weapon, armor, or shield by 1 (maximum of +5)
  • Increase a granted bonus by +1 (if the bonus is +4 or less) or by +2 (if +5 or higher).

You can choose this ability multiple times, but you cannot increase the enhancement bonus by more than +1 or increase the same granted bonus more than once.

Extra Legendary Ability

Choose one of your item’s legendary abilities with limited daily uses. You can use that ability one additional time per day.

You can choose this ability multiple times, but you must select a different legendary ability each time.

Growing Legend

As the legend of your item spreads, tales of how you use it also begin to spread. You gain one additional legendary ability of any tier at least one tier lower than the highest tier you have already unlocked. Unlike the Modify Legend ability (see below), these changes to the legend do not permanently affect the item, as they are tied to how you use it rather than to the item itself.

This ability may only be selected once for each tier.

Improved Saves

You gain a +2 bonus to one of your saving throws. You can choose this ability up to three times, each time it applies to a different save.

Modify Legend

You are able to influence the legends surrounding your item, changing the legend and changing the powers it grants. You can replace any one unlocked ability of your legendary item with any ability of the same tier. This permanently changes the item, so any wielders after you will be affected by your choices.

This ability may only be selected once for every three levels of scion you possess (rounded down), so it may not be selected before 3rd level.
