Bounty Hunter

Bounty hunters crisscross the land in search of those whose capture will bring a reward. There is no thrill greater than the hunting of intelligence beings for those who take up this role.

Rangers and fighters are those who most commonly take up this calling, as they typically already possess the skills necessary to find and take down a target. However rogues and others who use more subtle means are also known to become bounty hunters.

Entry Requirements

Skills: Natural Lore 2 ranks, Perception 3 ranks, Streetwise 2 ranks.
Feat: Track or Urban Tracking.

Class Features

Weapon and Armor Proficiency

A Bounty Hunter gains no proficiency with any type of weapon, armor, or shield.

Scour

At 1st level, you gain either Track or Urban Tracking as a bonus feat. If you already possess both feats, you gain no benefit from this ability.

Prey

As a bounty hunter, you can name a single individual as your prey. At 1st level, you gain a +2 bonus on Deception, Insight, Natural Lore, and Perception checks as well as any skill check to Recall Knowledge (regardless of the skill) when using these skills against your named prey. Likewise, you get a +2 bonus on weapon damage rolls and rolls to confirm critical hits against your prey.

This bonus lasts until you successfully capture and return your prey, at which time you may immediately name a new prey which becomes the target of this ability. If your prey is killed or you choose to abandon the hunt, you must wait for one week before naming a new individual as your prey.

At 3rd level, the bonus against your named prey increases to +4.

This ability counts as the ranger’s Favored Enemy ability for the purposes of meeting prerequisites; however you cannot use prey to gain additional favored enemies. If a specific creature is subject to both prey and favored enemy, the bonuses do not stack; you simply use whichever bonus is higher. Feats and abilities that enhance favored enemy (such as Improved Favored Enemy) can be applied to the prey ability instead.

Take Them Alive

As a bounty hunter, you specialize in capturing your target alive and returning with them relatively unharmed. At 2nd level, you can treat any melee weapon you wield as if it had the Nonlethal weapon property, allowing you to use it to deal nonlethal damage without penalizing your attack roll. You may also use this ability with ranged weapons as long as your target is within precision range.

If you can cast spells, you can modify them to deal nonlethal damage as if you possessed the Nonlethal Substitution metamagic feat.

Knockout Punch

When you reach 3rd level, you gain Knockout Punch as a bonus feat, even if you don’t meet the prerequisites. In addition, you may use this feat with any weapon you use to deal nonlethal damage, not just your unarmed strike.
