Anytime you deal cold damage—whether from a spell, ability, or even a weapon with the frost enchantment—you deal 1 point of additional cold damage. Your attack also ignores up to 5 points of cold resistance.
Essence
Each point of essence invested in this veil increases the damage by +1 and allows you ignore an additional 5 points of cold resistance.

A blast of ice and frigid air follows your attacks, freezing the heart of your enemies and sapping their will to fight.
When you successfully deal cold damage to an opponent, you conjure cold so intense that it numbs the mind and saps the spirit. Damaged creatures lose the benefits of any insight or morale bonuses affecting them for one round. A successful Will save negates this effect. This is a mind-affecting ability.
