This thin hoop of akasha hangs from your ear, filling your mind with images of danger right before they come to pass.
Weaving this veil grants you the ability to detect danger brief moments before they happen, allowing you to react quickly to nearly anything. You can always act in the surprise round of combat and cannot be caught flat-footed. Creatures who are immune to divinations, such as a creature under the effects of the mind blank spell, ignore the effects of this veil.
Essence
For each point of essence invested in this veil you gain a +2 insight bonus to initiative checks, a +1 bonus on Reflex saves made to avoid traps, and a +1 dodge bonus to AC against attacks by traps. Investing essence does not change your initiative count after it has been rolled.
Chakra Bind (Head)
Binding this veil to your Head chakra further enhances your ability to react preemptively. While bound, you may use an immediate action to burn essence to increase your initiative count. Each point of essence burned increases your initiative count by 2, which can change turn order.
If this would cause your initiative to move to a place higher in the turn order than the current turn, you act immediately after the currently acting creature finishes their turn. For example: If you have an initiative of 6, you could use this ability to burn 3 points of essence to increase your initiative to 12. You would then act on initiative count 12 as normal. If you do this on the turn of a creature with an initiative count of 10, you would act immediately after that creature’s turn ends.
