Librarian’s Spectacles

Class:Guru, Vizier
Chakra: Headband

You weave akasha into pair of fine spectacles crafted of golden wire with flawless quartz crystal lenses. When you peer through the glasses, you are able to glimpse snippits of information stored in the vast akashic library.

Unlike other veils, you must bind essence into this veil when you weave it, and you cannot invest any additional essence into it after it has been woven.

When you weave this veil, choose one skill from the following list: Academics, Arcane Lore, Arms Lore, Engineering, Natural Lore, Psi Lore, and Theology.

You gain a +2 insight bonus on checks made using the chosen skill.

Essence

Each point of essence invested in this veil increases the insight bonus by +2 and allows you to select one additional skill which also gains this bonus.

Chakra Bind (Headband)

You are able to reach out and remove a tome from the shelves of the akashic library, giving you great insight into a specific topic.

By selecting and reading a metaphysical tome for 10 minutes, you are able to obtain advice or information on any one topic. However, the tomes are expansive, filled with more information than can be easily understood with even a lifetime of study. You rarely find direct answers to your questions but are able to find enough information to draw a simple conclusion, usually being able to answer a question with “yes,” “no,” “maybe,” “never,” “irrelevant,” or some other short, succinct answer.

When you use this ability, select one of the skills you chose when you wove this veil. Questions answered are limited to what can be answered by that Knowledge skill. You may ask one question for every two veilweaver levels you possess.

After using this ability, one point of essence is removed from this veil and returned to your essence pool. The skill used is no longer affected by this veil. When there is no essence invested in this veil, one skill remains available. If you use this ability with the last skill, the veil unravels after the last question is answered.
