[Curse, Illusion, Title]
Class: | Rajah |
Chakra: | Shoulders |
Saving Throw: | Will partial (bound) |
A mantle of shadows wraps the Nightmare’s shoulders. Moving in an unseen wind, the cloak gives the Nightmare the illusion of possessing dark wings. When the Nightmare’s curse activates, black hands reach from the cursed victim’s shadow, holding him in place.
Once per round, the entitled can bestow a latent curse onto a weapon they touch as a swift action. Until the start of the entitled’s next turn, any creature struck by that weapon is afflicted with the Akashic Nightmare curse for 1 minute.
Once per turn as a free action, the entitled may activate the curse of a victim afflicted by their Akashic Nightmare. The victim becomes Immobilized, anchored in place by claws of darkness. However, the cursed victim can move if they succeed on a Bull Rush attempt (CMD 10 + your veilweaver level + your veilweaving modifier). This is a move action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity. The target takes a -1 penalty on this check for every 5 feet of distance between it and its anchor point as the shadows attempt to drag it back.
On a failed bull rush attempt, the victim is unable to move. If the check fails by 10 or more, the victim is knocked prone and dragged 5 feet back towards the anchor point.
If the bull rush attempt succeeds by 10 or more, the curse is broken and the victim is able to move freely.
The victim may freely move back towards the anchor point without making a check.
The entitled may have an unlimited number of creatures afflicted by their Akashic Nightmare curse, but only one curse can be active at a time. Activating a second curse completely removes the curse from the any creature with an active Akashic Nightmare.
Essence
Each point of essence increases the CMD of this veil’s effect by 2.
Chakra Bind (Shoulders)
In addition to being anchored to their location, the victim of an active Akashic Nightmare is wreathed in darkness and becomes intangible to all creatures it regards as an ally. The target’s allies see only an incorporeal and silent shadow figure in the approximate location of the victim. In addition, the victim’s senses are occluded by shadow, causing them to become unable to see, hear, or perceive creatures it considers allies beyond a vague outline of their allies’ approximate locations.
The victim can see and hear itself, cast spells with verbal components, and use command words normally, but any effect that requires allies to see, hear, or touch the victim (or the victim to see, hear, or touch its allies) don’t function.
The victim is entitled to a Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 your veilweaver level + your veilweaving modifier) when the curse activates. A successful save negates this effect. The victim is still immobilized by the basic effect of this veil.
Any creature with an attitude of indifferent or worse toward the victim or that wishes the victim harm can see and interact with the victim normally.
True seeing pierces this effect, but see invisibility can’t be used to perceive the victim of this effect. This effect lasts as long as the Akashic Nightmare curse remains active on the victim. The victim may make a will save at the end of each of its turns at the original DC to shake this effect. If it succeeds at this will save, it disperses the shadows but remains immobilized.
If the victim breaks the curse by successfully bull rushing out of the shadows, this effect also ends.
