Conjuration (Creation)
| Level: | Warlock 1 |
| Casting Time: | 1 move action |
| Duration: | 24 hours (D) |
You materialize eldritch energy into a not-quite physical weapon of tangible energy called an eldritch blade. You cannot cast eldritch blast while eldritch blade is active.
Your eldritch blade takes the form of a one-handed melee weapon with the finesse property. It deals 1d10 force damage, and you may apply your Strength modifier to damage as normal. You are proficient with this weapon while you wield it. Your eldritch blade has a +1 enhancement bonus to attack and damage rolls. The enhancement bonus increases by 1 at caster level 5th and every 5 caster levels thereafter, to a maximum of +5 at 20th level.
If your eldritch blade leaves your hand for any reason, you may instantly summon it back to your hand as a swift action. Your eldritch weapon disappears if it is more than 5 feet away from you for 1 minute. It also disappears if you use this invocation again, if you dismiss the weapon (as a free action), or if you are slain.
Casting this invocation counts as drawing a weapon for the purposes of triggering other abilities. In addition, you may choose to cast this invocation as a free action if you possess the Quick Draw feat.
Invocations and Mystic Arcanum
Invocations and Mystic Arcanum which modify an eldritch blast, such as agonizing blast and Enlarged Blast, can be applied to eldritch blade as if it were an eldritch blast. Some invocations that clearly should not affect a melee weapon, such as eldritch spear (which increases the range of an eldritch blast), have no affect when applied to this weapon.
