Eldritch Blade

Conjuration (Creation)

Level:Warlock 1
Casting Time:1 move action
Duration:24 hours (D)

You can create an eldritch weapon in your empty hand. You can choose the form that this melee weapon takes each time you create it, and it has the normal characteristics of the chosen weapon. You are proficient with it while you wield it. This weapon gains an enhancement bonus equal to the number of beams you can create with your eldritch blast invocation. You cannot use eldritch blast while your eldritch blade is summoned.

Invocations which affect your eldritch blast, such as agonizing blast, can be applied to your eldritch blade is if it were an eldritch blast. Some invocations that clearly should not affect a melee weapon, such as eldritch spear which increases the range of an eldritch blast, have no affect when applied to this weapon.

If your eldritch weapon leaves your hand for any reason, you may instantly summon it back to you as a swift action. Your eldritch weapon disappears if it is more than 5 feet away from you for 1 minute or more. It also disappears if you use this invocation again, if you dismiss the weapon (as a free action), or if you die.

You can transform one magic weapon into your eldritch weapon by performing a special ritual while you hold the weapon. You perform the ritual over the course of 1 hour, which can be done during a short rest. You can then dismiss the weapon, shunting it into an extradimensional space, and it appears whenever you create your eldritch weapon thereafter. The weapon uses its own enhancement bonus or that granted by this invocation, whichever is higher. You can’t affect an artifact or a sentient weapon in this way. The weapon ceases being your eldritch weapon if you die, if you perform the 1-hour ritual on a different weapon, or if you use a 1-hour ritual to break your bond to it. The weapon appears at your feet if it is in the extradimensional space when the bond breaks.
