Flaring Embers

Combination: Wood → Fire → Earth
Cost:1 ki
Type:Strike

You ignite motes of ki, covering your target with burning embers. This attack deals an additional 1d6 fire damage and causes your target to catch fire. The target begins Burning for 1d6 fire damage each round until the fire is extinguished.

If desired, the target can use a full-round action to attempt to extinguish the flames before taking this additional damage. Extinguishing the flames requires a DC 15 Reflex save. Rolling on the ground provides the target a +2 bonus on the save. Leaping into a lake or magically extinguishing the flames automatically smothers the fire.

If not extinguished, a target will burn for a maximum number of rounds equal to your cultivation modifier.

Adept Ki Formation

The embers of burning ki flare even hotter, causing the initial and ongoing fire damage from this attack to increase to 2d6.

Master Ki Formation

The flaring embers become stubbornly persistent, requiring two successful saves to extinguish the flames. (Dousing with water extinguishes the fire as normal.)
