You create a temporary dream state in the mind of a sleeping creature, sheltering it from outside influence while providing it with a pristine resting environment, ideal for recovering mental energies. For the duration of this power, the subject is immune to all mind-affecting effects and abilities which affect the target’s dreams, and they may make saving throws normally. (They are not automatically considered “willing” as unconscious creatures usually are.)
After a long rest while under the effects of guarded sleep, a subject’s mind is in top condition, granting special benefits based upon its particular abilities.
- If the target can manifest psionic powers, they gain one temporary power point for each manifester level they possess.
- If the target can cast arcane spells spontaneously, they gain one additional spell slot of the highest spell level they can cast.
- If the target prepares arcane spells, they may prepare spells in half the usual amount of time.
These benefits fade when the target takes a long rest.
You cannot manifest guarded sleep on yourself unless you are capable of manifesting powers while unconscious.
