Rain Weathers the Stone

Strike

Level:Placid Lake 6
Prerequisites:Two Placid Lake techniques
Action:1 standard action
Range:Melee Attack
Target:One creature
Duration:1 round

The harder your opponent fights, the greater the harm his own actions harm bring him.

Make a melee attack. If it hits, it deals damage as normal. In addition, the target of this attack is harmed with each action they take. Until the start of your next turn, the target takes 2d6 psychic damage each time they perform any of the following actions:

  • Move or be moved any distance, including forced movement such as a result of being bull rushed, dragged, blown away, or other such movement.
  • Make an attack, including attacks of opportunity, each individual attack in a full attack, bonus attacks, and off-hand attacks.
  • Make a combat maneuver check.
  • Cast a spell, spell-like ability, supernatural ability, or other effect, including purely mental actions and spells with the Still Spell feat applied.

This is untyped damage that bypasses damage reduction and may cause the target to make a concentration check if casting a spell or performing another action that requires concentration.

No specific action can trigger this damage more than once, so making a bull rush only inflicts 2d6 damage, even though it also involves movement. A charge with the pounce ability would inflict 2d6 damage for the movement plus an additional 2d6 for each attack made.
