Adaptive Resistance

You can modify your flesh to better resist damage from your opponents' weapons.

Benefit

You may use a standard action to adjust the type of weapon that overcomes your damage reduction. You may only change one aspect of your damage reduction at a time. This change persists until you change it again.

This mutation does not allow you to add new aspects to the damage reduction, nor does it increase the amount of damage reduction you possess. Whichever aspect you change must be changed to the same kind of aspect (e.g. bludgeoning/piercing/slashing).

For example, if you have DR 5/bludgeoning and cold iron, you may use a standard action to change it to DR 5/slashing and cold iron. On a later turn, you could use another action to change it to DR 5 slashing and silver. You can only change one of the two at a time. However, if you possess only DR 5/bludgeoning, you could change it only to either DR 5/slashing or DR 5/piercing but not to DR 5/cold iron.

Special

This mutation only allows you to change your damage reduction based on physical properties, such as damage type and material. It does not allow you to change other aspects, such as alignment (Good/Evil/Law/Chaos), Magic, Epic, or —.
