Elf

There are many tales of children spirited away by jealous fey or men lost in the forest who find themselves snared after eating of the fey food. Doorways in standing stones or mushroom rings lead invariably to the lands of the fey, or so the stories say. Elves trace their ancestral origins back to these fairy tales, mortals touched with a bit of the wildness of the fey.

Elves possess an otherwordly grace and deep insight into the secrets of the natural world. Though typically on the physically frail side of average, they tend to be among the longest living of the moral races. They view themselves as the anointed protectors of the natural world and the true keepers of ancient ways and lost knowledge, of secrets known only to themselves and their ilk.

Most elves appear nearly human at first glance, though their hair, eye, and skin colors can all vary wildly from what would be considered the human norm. Even those with more human-like coloring are easily identified by their long, pointed ears and slight builds, averaging at a short five feet in height and seldom heavier than 100 pounds.

Elf Subraces

The following options are subraces of Elf.

  • Maenad — Descended from the fey races of the seas and oceans, maenads contain within the the tranquility of the ocean but also the potential to suddenly erupt with the power and fury of the storm.
