Benefit

A psicrystal weapon can either grow into any kind of melee weapon, albeit of a crystalline nature, or be bonded to an existing weapon, covering it with crystals. A psicrystal weapon grants special abilities to you, as shown on Table: Psicrystal Weapon Special Abilities below. This replaces all of the normal special abilities granted to a psicrystal, causing it to lose any such abilities it has already gained. The statistics from the Psicrystal Basics section are calculated as normal.

Psicrystal Weapon Ability Descriptions

All psicrystal weapons have special abilities (or impart abilities to their owners) depending on the level of the owner, as shown on the table above. The abilities on the table are cumulative.

Intelligence Adj., Alertness, Personality, Sighted, Telepathic Link, Power Resistance, and Sight Link

These special abilities function the same as for a standard psicrystal of equivalent level.

Hardness Adj. (Ex)

This number noted here is an improvement to the weapon’s hardness. It represents a psicrystal’s preternatural durability. In addition, as long as you are conscious, the weapon is immune to the broken condition.

Weapon Form (Ex)

By grasping your psicrystal in your hand, you can use a standard action to transform it into any manufactured melee weapon with which you are proficient with a size appropriate to you (or a move action if you have the Quick Draw feat).

While in weapon form, your psicrystal counts as a masterwork version of the chosen weapon for all intents and purposes (powers, effect, feats, abilities, and so forth). It is made from crystal, but determine its base hardness as it if were steel.

Your psicrystal weapon returns to its original form after one day (or sooner, if you will it). Your psicrystal can be enchanted as a melee weapon, and it retains these enchantments each time it takes weapon form.

Alternatively, you can merge your psicrystal with an existing melee weapon. That weapon is covered with crystal and gains all the benefits of your psicrystal weapon, but it does not gain any enchantments that you have applied to your psicrystal.

Recall Weapon (Su)

At 3rd level, as long as the psicrystal weapon is within range of your telepathic link, if you can see the weapon you can teleport it to your hand as a move action (or a free action if you have the Quick Draw feat).

At 9th level, you can teleport the psicrystal weapon to your hand as long as it is within range of the telepathic link by expending your psionic focus.

Deliver Touch Powers (Su)

If you are 3rd level or higher, your psicrystal can deliver touch powers for you. When you manifest a psionic power, you can deliver it through your psicrystal weapon as though it were your own hand. If you choose to do so, you replace the touch attack with a normal melee attack with your weapon, dealing weapon damage as normal in addition to the effect of the power.

Material Mastery (Su)

If you are 5th level or higher, you can change how your psicrystal weapon behaves in relation to damage reduction. As a free action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity, you can spend 2 power points to change your psicrystal weapon’s physical properties. Choose Adamantine, Silver, or Cold Iron. Your psicrystal weapon will penetrate damage reduction as if it was made out of this material for 1 minute. This doesn’t change the actual material of your psicrystal weapon.

Deep Crystal (Ex)

If you are 7th level or higher, your psicrystal weapon has become hardened from the exposure to psionic energy. It changes type from crystal to deep crystal, gaining a higher hardness value (reflected in the table above) and the ability to channel psionic energy.

As a free action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity, you can channel psionic power into your psicrystal weapon. For 2 power points, the psicrystal weapon deals an extra 2d6 points of damage. The weapon will stay charged for 1 minute or until it scores its next hit. If your psicrystal was already made out of deep crystal, it deals an additional +1d6 damage when you achieve 7th level.

Resistance Breaker (Su)

If you are 9th level or higher, you can expend your psionic focus as a free action to attune your psicrystal weapon to weaken a certain resistance of your target. When making a successful attack with your psicrystal weapon, you apply a -5 psionic penalty to your target’s energy resistance for the same energy type as your active energy, to a miminum of 0. This penalty stacks with itself for each successful attack against the same creature. This penalty lasts until the start of your next turn.

At 13th level you can choose power or spell resistance, in which case each successful attack until the beginning of his next round inflicts a stacking -2 psionic penalty to the PR or SR of the target until the start of your next turn.

Energy Attunement (Su)

If you are 15th level or higher, you can expend your psionic focus as a free action to deal energy damage with your weapon instead of the weapon damage until the beginning of your next turn. The energy is of your active energy type. If the psicrystal weapon is enchanted with the frost, flaming, shocking, thundering or corrosive weapon quality, increase that ability’s damage one die size when using this ability.

Special

You cannot gain or benefit from more than one Superior Psicrystal feat.
