Twice-Blood Paragon

Unlike other racial paragon classes, the twice-blood paragon embraces the diversity of their ancestral heritage rather than the race they are most commonly recognized as being. This racial paragon class is open to any individual who has two or more powerful ancestors of different types and who seeks to embrace those bloodlines. However, taking levels in this class prevents you from taking levels in your race’s normal paragon class.

Entry Requirements

Special: You must possess two different ancestral bloodlines, each with a bloodline level of 1st.

At 1st level, you must choose two ancestral bloodlines that you possess. These two bloodlines are directly tied to this class and empowered by it. This class has no effect on any other ancestral bloodlines you may possess.

Based on the bloodlines selected, you will gain one or two good saving throws, improving the bonuses granted by levels in this class. For example, if you have the Air Elemental and Cloud Giant ancestral bloodlines, you would have good Fortitude and Reflex saves while retaining the poor Will save. However, if you had selected the Fey and Fire Elemental bloodlines, only Reflex would be a good saving throw.

Likewise, you gain class skills based on your ancestral bloodlines. All class skills associated with your chosen bloodlines become class skills for this class.

Finally, the experience point cost of gaining a bloodline level for your chosen bloodlines is reduced by half.

Empowered Bloodlines

You gain Intermediate Bloodline as a bonus feat for both of your chosen ancestral bloodlines. If one or both of your chosen bloodlines are already at intermediate strength or is limited to only minor strength, you instead gain one bloodline level at no cost.

At 2nd level and again at 3rd level, you immediately gain a new level in both of your chosen ancestral bloodlines.

These bonus levels can temporarily exceed the normal maximum bloodline level based on your Hit Dice but not the maximum possible allowed by your bloodline’s strength—5th for minor bloodlines, 10th for intermediate bloodlines, and 20th for major bloodlines.

Bonus Heritage Feat

At 2nd level, you gain a bonus feat related to one of your chose bloodlines. This can be a generic Heritage Feat, such as Bloodline Toughness, or a more specific heritage feat, such as a Celestial Feat or Monstrous Blood Feat.

Ability Boost

At 3rd level, your ability scores increase based on the ability score related to your chosen ancestral bloodlines. These associated ability scores each increase by 1. If both chosen bloodlines increase the same ability score, the increase stacks.

Fused Blood

For the purpose of calculating the benefits of heritage feats related to your chosen ancestral bloodlines, your total number of feats is equal to the higher total + 1/2 the lower total, rounded down.

For example, suppose your chosen ancestral bloodlines are Red Dragon and Fire Giant and you have 5 Draconic feats and 4 Gigantic feats. For the purposes of any feat benefits that count your number of feats (such as Dragonscale and Heart of Fire), you are counted as having a total of 7 Draconic and Gigantic feats.

The one exception is that if you have both “Body” feats (Draconic Body,  Monstrous Body, etc.) that grant bonus hit points based on the number of feats you posses, each such feat counts only their original feat type. If you possess only one such Body feat, then it uses the modified feat count described above.
