Senapati

Rather than depending upon unreliable living beings who may ignore their commands, a senapati enhances their akashic servants into powerful soldiers who perfectly execute every order given to them without question or hesitation.

The senapati focuses less on rulership over lands and peoples and more on becoming the conquering hero leading his army to victory against the enemy.

Class Features

A Senapati does not gain the Warrior of the Court class feature.

Martial Arts

As a senapati, you learn fewer martial maneuvers than normal for a rajah, as shown on table The Senapati. Your martial arts ability is otherwise unchanged.

Veilweaving

As a senapati, you are able to weave fewer veils than normal for a rajah, as shown on table The Senapati. Your veilweaving ability is otherwise unchanged.

Akashic Soldiers

You gain Striking Mirage as a bonus feat at 1st level.

At 2nd level, once you gain the house of servants ability, you can summon one or more of your unseen servants as an akashic soldier that functions as described in the Striking Mirage feat, except that the akashic soldier persists until it is dismissed or destroyed.

The akashic soldier loses all spell-like abilities normally granted to your servants and cannot take actions the way your normal servants can. They possess only a single move action each round. Heraldries, feats, and abilities that otherwise affect or improve your unseen servants also affect or improve your akashic soldiers (including those temporarily summoned with the Striking Mirage feat).

Royal Mandate

Issuing a command with your royal mandate is a full-round action rather than a standard action. Commands issued to your allies otherwise function as normal.

At 2nd level, you gain the ability to issue commands to your akashic soldiers. Commanding your soldiers is a purely mental action. (Your other allies must still be able to see or hear you as normal.) Your commands work a little differently for your akashic soldiers than they do for your other allies.

Attack

You make a melee or ranged attack at your highest attack bonus through the commanded soldier. This functions exactly as your vassalage ability, except that you make a single normal weapon attack rather than initiating a martial arts technique.

If you issue this command to more than one soldier in a single turn, each subsequent attack you make takes a stacking -5 penalty on the attack roll, similar to the penalty for making iterative attacks.

Bolster

This command does nothing when issued to one of your soldiers, because they are automatically hit when attacked and automatically fail any saving throws.

Move

This command functions as normal for your akashic soldiers.

Activate Veil

This is a special command you can only issue to your akashic soldiers. You temporarily take control of the akashic soldier and activate a title veil that you have bestowed upon it. This functions like your vassalage class feature, except that you may activate the bestowed veil rather than use a martial technique. Replace every mention of “technique” with “veil” when determining how to resolve this ability. For the purposes of resolving this action, you are treated as the entitled.

You have only one action (standard, move, swift, or immediate) to use when activating the bestowed veil on the target akashic soldier, though decisions or changes made as free actions may also be taken. You cannot use a full-round action with this command. The action taken through your soldier does not count against your total actions this turn.

You cannot issue this command more than once in a turn, even if you have the ability to issue more than one command.

Vassalage

Your entitled allies do not count as vassals, and you cannot use your vassalage ability through them. You may only use your vassalage ability through your akashic soldiers (and other creatures that specifically count as vassals due to another feat or ability, such as through the Crystalline Vassal feat).

Geared for War

At 2nd level, you gain the ability to entitle your akashic soldiers with your title veils as if they were creatures, though they do not gain any ability to actually use the veils you bestow upon them. Any passive effects from a bestowed veil function normally. Each akashic soldier can only be entitled with a single veil.

Tactical Command

Beginning at 4th level, you can use your royal mandate to issue a command to two of your akashic soldiers as a single full-round action. You may issue different commands to each soldier if you so choose. You choose the order in which your akashic soldiers follow your commands.

At 8th level and every four levels thereafter, you can issue a command to one additional soldier as part of the same action, to a maximum of six at 20th level.

If you have abilities that allow you to improve your royal mandate or gain extra benefits from your royal mandate, these abilities only affect a single targeted soldier. This counts as only a single use of your royal command ability, no matter how many akashic soldiers are affected.
