Within the purity of the elements and the order of the wilds lingers a power beyond the marvels of civilization. Furtive yet undeniable, these primal magics are guarded over by servants of philosophical balance known as druids. Allies to beasts and manipulators of nature, these often misunderstood protectors of the wild strive to shield their lands from all who would threaten them and prove the might of the wilds to those who lock themselves behind city walls.
Rewarded for their devotion with incredible powers, druids gain unparalleled shape-shifting abilities, the companionship of mighty beasts, and the power to call upon nature’s wrath. The mightiest temper powers akin to storms, earthquakes, and volcanoes with primeval wisdom long abandoned and forgotten by civilization.
Role
Spiritualist druids focus on harnessing the elemental forces and natural powers of nature itself. Typically this means devotion to a nature deity, nature spirits, animalistic demigods, or even specific awe-inspiring natural wonders. Regardless of their faith, spiritualist druids harness powerful divine magics.

Spellcasting
A spiritualist druid casts divine spells, which are drawn from the druid spell list. A spiritualist druid can spontaneously cast any spell she has accessed without preparing it ahead of time.
To access or cast a spell, the druid must have a Wisdom score equal to at least 10 + the spell level. The Difficulty Class for a saving throw against a druid’s spell is 10 + the spell level + the druid’s Charisma modifier.
A druid can cast only a certain number of spells of each spell level per day. Her base daily spell allotment is given on the table. In addition, she receives bonus spells per day if he has a high Wisdom score.
A druid meditates or prays to gain her spells. She must choose a time at which she must spend 1 hour each day in quiet contemplation or supplication to regain her daily allotment of spells. Time spent resting has no effect on whether she can prepare spells.
Spell Access
A spiritualist druid’s access to divine spells is limited, even more so than other druids, but she makes up for this with her increased flexibility in which spells she casts. She begins play with access to three 0-level spells and one 1st-level spell of your choice. At each new druid level, he gains access to one or more new spells, as indicated on the table: Druid Spell Access.
Once per day, a spiritualist druid may conduct a ritual during her daily meditation to replace one of her accessed spells with a new druid spell. In effect, the druid “loses” the old spell in exchange for the new one. The new spell’s level must be the same as that of the spell being exchanged, but it may be any level that the druid can cast. A druid may swap only a single spell in any given day.
If a spiritualist druid possesses any metamagic feats, she must choose to apply them to her spells when she accesses them for the day, and the accessed spell is counted as a spell of the modified level when retrieving it. Each time she casts the accessed spell, the metamagic feat is applied to it automatically. She may choose to retrieve multiple copies of the same spell, each with different metamagic feats applied to it. Unlike other spontaneous spellcasters, a spiritualist druid is unable to apply metamagic feats to her spells at the time of casting.
Orisons
A druid must access 0-level druid spells, called orisons, just like any other spell before she can cast it. However, casting an orison does not consume a spell slot, allowing her to use them repeatedly throughout the day.
Bonus Languages
A druid’s bonus language options include Sylvan, the language of woodland creatures. This choice is in addition to the bonus languages available to the character because of her race.
A druid also knows Druidic, a secret language known only to druids, which she learns automatically upon becoming a 1st-level druid. Druids are forbidden to teach this language to nondruids.
Druidic has its own unique alphabet.
Discern Spirits
A spiritualist druid is blessed with the ability to discern spirits. She can instantly recognize any spirit she sees as such. Even if she isn’t able to identify the type of spirit, she still recognizes it as being a spirit. She can see invisible spirits and spirits on coterminous planes as if they were corporeal creatures on the material plane. This ability applies only to spirits and not to any other creatures.
Spirits on the Astral plane appear as hollow outlines filled with only the vaguest of hints of color, ethereal spirits are indistinct and hazy, spirits in the Shadow appear composed of darkness, while invisible spirits simply appear a bit blurry.
Merely being able to see spirits in adjacent planes of existence does not grant any ability to communicate or interact with them.
Nature Sense
A druid gains a +2 bonus on Natural Lore checks.
Wild Empathy
When attempting to improve the attitude of an animal, a druid can use her class level in place of her ranks in Handle Animal. The druid also does not suffer a penalty when using Handle Animal with a creature of the Beast type.
Castigate Spirits
Starting at 2nd level, a spiritualist druid gains the Channel Divinity ability to Castigate Spirits. She may use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + her Charisma modifier.
Trackless Step
Starting at 3rd level, a druid leaves no trail in natural surroundings and cannot be tracked. She may choose to leave a trail if so desired.
Resist Nature’s Lure
Starting at 4th level, a druid gains a +4 bonus on saving throws against the spell-like abilities of fey and other spirits.
Ghost Touch
A 5th-level druid confers the ghost touch special ability on any weapon she wields for as long as she wields it. She also uses her normal armor class (rather than touch AC) against any touch attack delivered by a spirit.
Spirit Stride
At 6th-level and higher a spiritualist druid can become incorporeal as a standard action, gaining the incorporeal subtype. She can use this ability once per day and remains incorporeal for a number of rounds equal to her druid level. She may return to her normal state early as a free action. A druid gains extra uses of this ability at 11th level, 16th level, and at 20th level.
Venom Immunity
At 9th level, a druid gains immunity to all poisons.
Spirit Magic
A spiritualist druid has become so invested in the study of her spirits, that at 10th level she learns to treat her own spirit almost as a separate entity, though it still remains per of her. As a swift action, the druid can transfer the task of concentrating on a spell to her spirit, allowing her to act normally and cast spells while her spirit maintains concentration.
Her spirit can concentrate on only one spell at a time and, if necessary, makes Concentration checks using the druid’s normal Concentration modifier to maintain the spell. The druid need not spend an action each round for her spirit to concentrate on a spell; however, her spirit loses concentration immediately if the druid becomes unconscious or is killed.
A druid’s spirit remains part of the druid and cannot be targeted or interacted with by other creatures, nor does it need to make Concentration checks due to damage or distraction that the druid suffers.
Exorcism
Beginning at 12th level, a spiritualist druid’s ability to chastise spirits gains an additional ability: the power of exorcism. Any creature possessing another within the area of her chastise spirits ability must make a Will save against the normal DC. If it fails this save, the druid succeeds in forcing the possessor from the body, with the normal results based on its method of possession. A spirit so exorcised cannot attempt to possess the same victim for 24 hours.
Timeless Body
After attaining 15th level, a druid no longer takes ability score penalties for aging and cannot be magically aged. Any penalties she may have already incurred, however, remain in place. Bonuses still accrue, and the druid still dies of old age when her time is up.
Ex-Druids
A druid who ceases to revere nature, changes to a prohibited alignment, or teaches the Druidic language to a nondruid loses all spells and druid abilities (but not weapon, armor, and shield proficiencies). She cannot thereafter gain levels as a druid until she atones (see the atonement spell description).
