Benefit
When you take damage that would drop your hit points to 0 or below, you may spend 1 faith point to reduce that damage by half (rounded down). If the remaining damage is enough to reduce your hit points below 0, you may continue to spend faith points, halving the damage each time; however, the cost increases by 1 for each halving.
For example, if you took 50 damage from an attack that would reduce your hit points below 0, you could spend 1 faith point to reduce the damage taken to 25. If this would still leave you below 0 hit points, you could spend an additional 2 faith points to reduce this damage to 12. Spending an additional 3 faith points (for a total of 6 faith points expended) would further reduce the damage to 6.
