Guardian, guide, and gatekeeper, the planar tutelary acts as a warden protecting their chosen plane from outside threats while gently guiding those of benign purpose to their destination across the planes.
A planar tutelary gains the ability to lock down planar travel nearby and impose the nature of his chosen plane onto his surroundings when traveling through other planes, serving to both protect his chosen plane from extraplanar incursions while also serving as a guide able to establish a beachhead when taking the fight back to those same invaders.

Class Features
Manifesting
At each level except 1st, you progress a psionic manifesting class you already possess. If you possess more than one manifesting class, you must decide to which class you add each new level of progression.
Planar Locus
At 1st level, you become aligned with a particular plane of your choice, usually your home plane. Your planar locus becomes the core of your abilities as a planar tutelary, causing you to grow stronger while on your chosen plane but weaker when you venture far from it. You must select a plane you have visited at least once, and if your chosen planar locus has an alignment trait, your alignment must match that trait.
Abilities tied to your planar locus (such as Planar Sustenance) only function while on your chosen plane. These abilities are unavailable while on other planes, including demiplanes and extradimensional spaces (such as the inside of a portable hole or the space created by a rope trick spell).
You have an innate understanding of the location of your planar locus. When you manifest astral caravan, planar travel, or any similar power to travel to another plane from your planar locus or from any other plane back to your planar locus, you add your planar tutelary level to any skill checks made for navigation and subtract your planar tutelary level from the number of d% to determine your point of arrival. For example, a 4th-level planar tutelary would gain a +4 bonus on the Academics checks made to navigate with astral caravan and would roll only 6d% to determine how far away the point of arrival is from their intended destination.
Dimensional Talent
You possess the innate ability to bend the shape of reality around you, allowing you to enforce dimensional boundaries as you choose. You can use your dimensional talent powers a number of times per day equal to your planar tutelary level.
Each dimensional talent ability is described in a separate entry below.
Astral Caravan
At 1st level, you gain astral caravan as a bonus power known if you do not already know it. In addition, you may manifest astral caravan without paying the power point cost by spending a daily use of your dimensional talent. You cannot augment it when manifested in this way.
Planar Sustenance
Beginning at 2nd level, the natural ambient energy of your plane sustains your body, satisfying your basic physical needs. While within your planar locus, you need not eat or drink, and your rate of natural healing is doubled. However, you cannot heal naturally when outside of your planar locus.
At 6th level, you no longer need to sleep while within your planar locus, and the amount of time needed to benefit from a Long Rest is halved (to a minimum of 4 hours).
Planar Guardian
When defending your planar locus from outside threats, the plane lends you power to aid in its defense. While within your planar locus, you gain a +2 bonus against creatures that originate from other planes, including summoned or called creatures. This bonus applies on Deception, Insight, Natural Lore, and Perception checks made against such creatures and to your armor class and weapon damage rolls against them.
This bonus also applies to the save DC of any psionic power you manifest that forces a creature to return to its own plane, such as expulsion or banish.
At 6th level and again at 10th level, the bonus increases by 2.
This ability counts as the ranger’s Favored Enemy ability for the purposes of meeting prerequisites; however you cannot use this ability to gain additional favored enemies. If a specific creature is subject to both planar guardian and favored enemy, the bonuses stack.
Locus Manifestation
When you reach 3rd level, you learn to impose the natural laws of your planar locus onto other planes. While on a plane other than your planar locus, you can spend two daily uses of your dimensional talent to manifest a zone of planar flux as a full-round action, allowing your planar locus to extend onto your current plane. The area within this zone mimics the physical, structural, essence, alignment, and magic traits of your planar locus, with the exception of time traits. This zone has no effect on the passage of time on your current plane. In addition, while within your locus manifestation, you count as being within your planar locus for all abilities.
The locus manifestation has an area with a radius of 5 feet per class level and a duration of Concentration (max 1 hour/class level) + 10 rounds. The zone manifests centered on you when you use this ability, but it does not move with you.
You need not remain within your locus manifestation, and it remains in effect regardless of your distance for its duration.
Expulsion
At 4th level, you gain expulsion as a bonus power known if you do not already know it. In addition, you may manifest expulsion without paying the power point cost by spending a daily use of your dimensional talent.
If you do not have a high enough manifester level to manifest 4th-level powers, you can still manifest expulsion by spending uses of your dimensional talent but cannot manifest it normally until you have attained the required manifester level.
Sense Planar Breach
Upon reaching 4th level, your senses become so attuned to the unique esoteric signature of your planar locus that you can sense when the barriers between the planes are breached. You can sense any gate, portal, or other semi-permanent planar breach between your planar locus and another plane out to a range of 1 mile per manifester level (even if the breach is not currently active). You do not get an exact location, sensing only the general direction and approximate number of miles to the breach. This ability functions on planes other than your planar locus, but it only detects a breach that opens back to your planar locus.
In addition, you gain a prescient sense of any planar breach that is about to open within 40 feet of you. This functions much like detect teleportation, except that you can detect any effect of the teleportation, summoning, or calling subdisciplines or that specifically accesses other planes of existence or uses extradimensional travel.
You may activate or disable this ability as a move action. It remains active until you disable it.
Planar Travel
At 5th level, you gain planar travel as a bonus power known if you do not already know it. You learn planar travel as if it were a 4th-level power on your class list. This means, among other things, that manifesting these powers costs 7 power points. In addition, you may manifest planar travel without paying the power point cost by spending two daily uses of your dimensional talent. You cannot augment it when manifested in this way.
If you do not have a high enough manifester level to manifest 4th-level powers, you can still manifest planar travel by spending uses of your dimensional talent but cannot manifest it normally until you have attained the required manifester level.
Seal Planar Breach
Beginning at 7th level, you can reinforce the natural barriers of your planar locus with your psionic might, effectively blocking the use of any spell or effect that can be detected by the shorter range of your Sense Planar Breach ability.
As an immediate action, you create a shimmering amethyst barrier around the point of the planar breach and throw your will against it. Make a manifester level check (DC 10 + the caster level of the planar breach effect). If successful, you seal the breach immediately, countering and dispelling the effect, even if it normally cannot be countered. Magic items (such as portals) that are affected by this ability become inert but are not destroyed.
To use this ability, you must have line of effect to the target breach. Activating this ability requires you to spend one daily use of your dimensional talent.
Dimensional Barrier
At 9th level, you learn dimensional barrier as a bonus power known if you do not already know it. You learn dimensional barrier as if it were a 7th-level power on your class list. This means, among other things, that manifesting these powers costs 13 power points. In addition, you may manifest dimensional barrier without paying the power point cost by spending three daily uses of your dimensional talent. You cannot augment it when manifested in this way.
If you do not have a high enough manifester level to manifest 7th-level powers, you can still manifest dimensional barrier by spending uses of your dimensional talent but cannot manifest it normally until you have attained the required manifester level.
Greater Locus Manifestation
Upon reaching 10th level, your ability to manifest your planar locus greatly improves. The duration of your locus manifestation increases to Concentration (max 1 day) + 1 hour, and your sense planar breach ability extends to cover the entire area of your locus manifestation.
In addition, when you use this ability, you can choose to manifest dimensional barrier as part of your locus manifestation, paying its normal cost in either power points or uses of dimensional talent. If you do so, the entire area of your locus manifestation is protected by the dimensional barrier, and you only need to maintain concentration on this ability to maintain the benefits of both.
Finally, as long as you are within your locus manifestation, you may expend uses of dimensional talent to activate any of your abilities that use that resource, such as your expulsion ability, without interrupting your concentration on your locus manifestation. However, other actions or effects that disrupt concentration (including manifesting powers with power points instead of dimensional talent uses) interrupts your concentration as normal.
